Use simply mouse and keyboard. again the game itself does not have any support for controllers. but again you can get a program. like joy2pad, or xpadder that will similute when you click a key on the controller for it to respond to a key on the keyboard.

I have installed Pinnacle Game Profiler and i am able to use the xbox 360 wireless controller to control pc functions although it doesn't seem to link with call of duty 4 steeam version even when settings have been downloaded and mapped to the controller. I will try uninstalling it restarting pc and do a clean install of the software.
