Nov 15, 2018 · For a warmer black try 20C, 70M, 70Y, 100K. For black text or black line art use 0C, 0M, 0Y, 100K. We do not recommend using "Registration Black" (100% of all inks) because this may cause problems when printing. For reverse text on a rich black background the smallest size we recommend is 6pt sans serif, 8pt serif, and 10 pt script.

A general purpose spec might be simply 100k overprinting 70c. In the old days this was known as putting a "shiner" tint under the black.

Apr 15, 2019 · Total ink limit (TAC) is built into all CMYK profiles. So the simplest way to ensure the richest possible black is to work in RGB and convert at the very end to whatever destination CMYK is required. Then 0-0-0 is converted to max ink, which is a bit higher, but the deepest black possible within TAC.
