Feb 07, 2017 · I have enabled IPv6 on an ASA. If I enter. ipv6 icmp permit any echo INET-IPV6 . ipv6 icmp permit any echo-reply INET-IPV6 . This breaks the interface in some way and you can not even ping from the ASA its self. So permitting echo has the effect of denying it ! No. explicitly allowing ICMP6 echo (and nothing else) may deny all other ICMP6.
