Update: So you cpu doesn't support it. For the compiler: # gcc -dumpmachine # gcc --version Target of your compiler needs to a kind of x86*, since only this cpus support sse2, which is part of the x86 instruction set. AND. gcc version needs to be >= 3.1 (most likely, since this is about 10 years old or something) for supporting SSE2.

I used the command: cat /proc/cpuinfo However when i looked for anything regarding "sse" i didn't find anything unless it is a different term that i am not aware of. Nov 02, 2012 · I have installed windows 8 on a computer. After installation I have used coreinfo to check whether there is (*) in front of NX, PAE and SSE2 or not. But I observed there was (-) in front of NX and PAE while (*) in front of SSE2. Now what does this mean. As you told if there is (*) then it means the system supports the bits.
