Nov 11, 2015 · The catalysts containing 2,4 and 10 wt. % of nickel were prepared by the impregnation of commercial ceria-zirconia support (Ce 0.62 Zr 0.38 O 2, Rhodia Electronics & Catalysts) with aqueous solutions of nickel nitrate. The obtained catalysts were dried and calcined in air at 550 °C for 2 h and were denoted as Ni(2)/CZ, Ni(4)/CZ and Ni(10)/CZ.

Compared to Ni-ZrO 2 the ceria-zirconia supported Ni catalyst did not achieve higher activity or stability for methane dry reforming but, nevertheless, the formation of filamentous carbon was strongly reduced (100 times less carbonaceous species).
