Several people we spoke to had been involved in setting up or running a local support group for people with heart failure, cardiomyopathy or implanted devices (ICDs). Some also acted as a ‘buddy’ by giving individual support to people newly diagnosed or newly fitted with an ICD. Not all support groups operate on a face-to-face basis.
