Dec 28, 2008 · If the atmosphere around the experiment has LESS oxygen content than that - no combustion. Carbon Dioxide is too stable and won't give up it's molecules to the combustion. CO2 (Carbon dioxide) is a result of combustion, not an element contributing to it.
