In Printer's Properties dialog box I have opened "Ports" and there have found the box "Enable bi-directional support". Unfortunately, this has not resolved the problem. I have clicked into the box, then clicked "OK", and nothing has happened.

Dec 04, 2013 · I just upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. My Canon Pixma iP4700 printer was working before, but now a dialog says I need to enable bidirectional support in the printer properties. However, when I check that box in the Ports tab of Properties, nothing happens, and when I go back to that dialog the box is again unchecked.
