Apr 18, 2016 · Hi Carl, If the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED AF-P VR required a Lens Foot, the Nikon Engineers would have included one in the design. The lens mount on every Nikon DSLR (from the D3000 Series to the D5) is more than robust enough to support the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED IF AF-P VR when using the tripod mount on the camera body.
