The reason to the hassle above is due to Asterisk has upgrade their IAX2 security to mitigate denial of service attacks and there is a fix for this: In /etc/asterisk/iax.conf in [general] section add: calltokenoptional=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 requirecalltoken=no Restart Asterisk.

For example, if multiple peers use the same authentication details, and they have not all upgraded to support call token validation, then the ones that do not support it will get locked out. Once an upgraded client successfully completes an authenticated call setup using call token validation, Asterisk will require it from then on.

Sep 14, 2009 · I am haveing simular problems with a 1.4.38 build shows in core as 1.4.29rc1 I have calltokenoptional=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 maxcallnumbers = 16382. My ATA is just a chepo but it does work on version of asterisk 1.2 and 1.4.26 down… and I can not nor software zoiper IAX2 clients..
