Nov 12, 2019 · If you go the HDMI splitter route, position the splitter between the output and input device. For example, if your Chromecast can't connect to your TV because of HDCP errors, connect the Chromecast to the input port of the splitter and run a different HDMI cable from the output port of the splitter into your TV's HDMI slot.

Apr 16, 2012 · It's a recent change implemented by HBO's networks. They're now enforcing "HDCP Copy Protection" over the HDMI/DVI interface. If your TV does not properly support HDCP, you'll get this message. You have a couple of options .... Use Component Video connection instead of HDMI; Get a newer HDTV that properly supports HDCP copy protection

Jan 30, 2007 · It means you TV doesn't support HDCP, or High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. Your cable box won't output a signal because without HDCP the signal could be copied, to a DVD or other recording device. Basically, its yet another way for the media outlets to control what you do with your media. Theres not really a fix for this.
