Nov 14, 2011 · I have tried resetting the browser (internet options > advanced) but no joy and I have written a bat file that re-registers plugins etc but still no joy. The next time this comes up I'm going to see if clearing the Java cache has any success but I'm not overly optimistic.

If you're getting this message the chances are it's a bug in the JavaScript on the page that's misinterpreting the AJAX data, or a bug on the server that's not generating data in the way the JavaScript expects.

If you do not want to use jQuery - you can check if the browser support xmlHttpRequest - if not than run the code with ActiveXObject. But if the Ajax call is cross domain and it is not running in all browser - it is coz of the security issues.

Jul 30, 2007 · The UpdatePanel does wonders for me and I do not need the toolkit. Opera 8.5 works so far for me, but that browser is just too weird. To be on the save side, I recommend at least Opera 9.0.
