May 28, 2015 · Proper controller support is on the horizon, but I will point out that Source games in general are not too great with controllers, particularly with the aiming aspect. Having played both L4Ds and CS:GO on the Xbox, I can feel your pain. Yes, I have the same trouble in L4D as well. But it seems more pronounced with Black Mesa.

It plainly states on the Store page that the game has Partial Controller Support. That currently means that a m/k is needed in the games menu but not for gameplay. Controller support has been improved in the dev build. It will probably be included in the upcoming release.
