Jan 17, 2010 · BitPim needs to speak to your phone using the correct serial port. Your phone needs to respond on that port. Some phones have different modes that switch between talking as USB versus serial. Unfortunately every machine is different in what port names are used, especially if you have a USB to serial cable or adapter.

I still have the SMSs in BitPIM - but can't get them back onto the phone. I have been able to upload other items - just not SMSs Item has repeated everytime (did this last night and tonight) I've rebooted the PC, rebooted the phone, Ensured I have the latest BitPIM Direct USB connection from PC to phone using manufacturer USB/Dare cable.

Thankfully, all is not lost because there is an excellent little tool called Plop Boot Manager which can do the impossible and allow you to boot the computer from USB even if the BIOS does not support it. Plop can boot different operating systems such as Windows or Linux from hard disk, floppy, CD/DVD or from USB.

BitPim states on the bottom as OTHER CDMA phone. No phone info is EVER available. One usb port comes up as COM8 and the other COM6. These are my findings on the bitpim phone book issue with the VX9200 (enV3). Problem: Using bitpim version 1.0.7.20080908 I imported a CSV phonebook from another phone, then sent it to the VX9200 which resulted in the common problem of the first 4 digits of all the numbers being missing.

I had the same problem. I did not find a solution and exchanged teh 8350 for the 8700 which works fine with BitPim. After doing this, I got a reply to a message I posted about this to another forum. Someone told me it works if you tell BitPim the 8350 is an 8550. I have not been able to check this since I no longer have the phone.
