If you are on it you can work as you feel able and the benefits are not affected. But you have to be pretty badly off to qualify, and over a period of time.

Sep 04, 2019 · I don't have a personal experience with this myself but I have seen and heard on social media groups I am in on people getting the Disability Support Pension for Mental Health. From what I can understand I do believe there is a lot more supporting evidence required.

I have currently just been diagnosed with a mental illness and i find functioning on a daily basis in a normal way kind of hard. I have never applied for this before, and have been on and off centrelink when i have my "breakdowns".
