I'm assuming you're playing against the AI, and they may be lacking in intelligence on the Fortress maps, but I wouldn't know, since I never play Fortress maps, let alone with the AI.

It wasn't forshire's idea, but Thorongil's. Anyway, with this patch, we've done our best to add things that 1. do not break the game/balance and 2. serve an actual purpose, such as (decently) balanced new maps, bug fixes (some of which were admittedly caused by 1.05), and improved unit/hero textures.
