Wait as it is well known audacity had no choice. ffmpeg has changed and split. but that doesn't mean audacity is unable to do what you want. ffmpeg is a standalone program that handles codecs etc etc and many things. if you need support for all the you need. You just need to read up on what you want to do. And Audacity will handle a lot of stuff.
