Jan 30, 2016 · My question is the weight while loading the ATV. I have a Ram 3500 DRW (8 ft bed) and a 2019 max xt-p. The tailgate for the 3500s are pretty high and the xt-p with rider is about 1,200 lbs. I'll have to have longer ramps to the tailgate which will make the tailgate support all/most of the weight during loading, albeit temporarily.

Oct 31, 2014 · There was a thread about this sort of thing, tailgate cable strength, etc a while back. Recently though someone posted a good, simple idea. Put two 2x12's long-ways in the truck bed under the ATV tires, so the weight is distributed across the board lengths, rather than 50% of the ATV weight being right on the tailgate.

Feb 15, 2016 · Bed extender tailgate replacement just seemed like the way to go. Takes up very little space in backyard, and I can tailgate off, installed and quad loaded up in under 10 min. Like I said, only thing that would make it better would be to be able to leave tailgate on and have support past it.

Jun 07, 2019 · So I upgraded my 2012 Ram and got a Rebel crew cab. The new Rams have the aluminum tailgate, and I am just wondering how much weight they can support compared to the old steel ones. I have a 2018 Can Am Outlander Max (2 seater) that is about 9 inches longer than a typical ATV. I used to put it in the back of my 2012 RAM crew cab with no issues.
