You'll be happy with AT&T if you have an iPhone whose data plan you want to share, you don't need a ton of data, or you don't have great T-Mobile coverage. You also shouldn't mind AT&T locking Apple SIM to that carrier, or buying an iPad Pro to get around the locking restriction.

Update. Received a how is the process coming along voicemail from ATT tech. Decided to check and lo and behold, the account wipe worked. I had to input all the information all over again and it did the change the original number but, now I have a functioning 3G iPad.

Feb 11, 2019 · Hi all, I used to be able to get a data plan on my ipad even though I don't have a Tmobile cellular account. Now it seems that I am locked out of the account, can't reset it without a prepaid PIN whatever that is, can't reset the PIN without going to a store, etc. Calling support without a Tmobile phone number is almost impossible and they don't seem to understand a stand alone pre-paid data plan.

Aug 04, 2019 · If I put the SIM into a phone, I can get data just fine. What worries me though is I put my Straight Talk/AT&T SIM from my phone into my stick and it couldn't get online either, which seems to me they've blacklisted that IMEI across all AT&T services (and not just the iPad plan).
