Jul 17, 2012 · The lastest Atmel toolchain for Linux (or Windows, for that matter) is 3.5.4 (with AVR GCC 4.9.2) which, of course, has no support for the ATtiny104. I found the atpack which includes support for the t104, but I'm not sure how, or even if, I can integrate that into the 3.5.4 toolchain.

Jan 15, 2018 · hey there, I was told that there is an increasing demand for an Atmel Studio alternative for linux. Well I've been developing one for the past year or so and I think it is now polished and ready to be used, bare in mind though that it is not as professional as Atmel Studio's IDE, but it gets the job done.

This patch drops support for AVR32 architecture from the Linux kernel. The AVR32 architecture is not keeping up with the development of the kernel, and since it shares so much of the drivers with Atmel ARM SoC, it is starting to hinder these drivers to develop swiftly.
