Early Media is most frequently associated with the SIP channel, but it is also a feature of other channel drivers such as H323. In simple situations, any call in Asterisk that is going to involve audio should invoke either Progress() or Answer().

Jan 24, 2007 · Hello everybody, I would like Asterisk to listen to incoming SIP calls. When it gets a call, it should play a wave file as early media (that is, send 180 or 183 Ringing with SDP body and play the whole wave file before sending 200 OK). I mention I have searched in this forum and in Internet, but I've found no results regarding this feature.

I didn't get any audio in sip calling when using early media feature of asterisk. Normally its working fine but due to playback apps, asterisk answer the sip channel and timer of user start that should not be happen. That why I am trying to implement early media option in asterisk. It is working as said but problem occur in audio.

Sep 22, 2016 · If you would like to test Asterisk with WebRTC you can now use the latest shipping Chrome. Audio should work great, but Asterisk 11 does not support the VP8 video codec used by Chrome at the time of this writing. Passthrough support for the video codec VP8 (and Opus for audio) was added in Asterisk 12.

Sep 25, 2012 · as i understand early media don't work, because no media before connection. I have Asterisk 1.6.2.13 installed on other server (not Vicidial) the same Asterisk configuration (sip parametrs, extensions ) - works fine early media plays and i hear "subscriber unavailable"

Apr 09, 2018 · Hello, I have an Asterisk 15 with PJSIP behind NAT (Amazon EC2).. Now I would like to get Early Media Video working between clients in different NATed networks. The 183 signalling goes trough perfectly, but asterisk doesn’t forward the Early Media RTP stream from the caller to the recipent.
