Jun 03, 2014 · Heads up: Asus support site for RIVE provides a newer Asmedia SATA driver version V2.0.8.0 (2014.04.09 update) Previously I had original version V1.3.4.0 (2012.07.05 update) installed. After updating to the newer driver, TRIM no longer worked on the one SSD I have attached. I rolled back to earlier version 1.3.4, and running a test for TRIM functionality, it reports working again.

TRIM support for example was not available at original ASM1153E release, but is now available for beta if one is willing to reflash. In the past I've updated the firmware to add support for larger drive capacity. Anyway, that's just my experience. Search amazon for asmedia, and it is generally a selling point.
