Sep 27, 2016 · The steps look good for me assuming you have set asm scan boot to yes to scan disks every time when you boot the system. You can verify the setting in the /etc/sysconfig/oracleasm file . One more thing to look is to verify the ASMlib is coming after iscsi and have the devices attached to the system. Cheers, Gleb

When a failure group is not specified, Oracle ASM adds each disk within its own failure group. However, when the disks are stored on Oracle Exadata Storage Server s and a failure group is not specified, Oracle ASM adds a disk to the failure group for that cell. The failure group name is the cell name.
