I believe it was designed with 2 hoods on the top, but the hoods were removed and replaced with a full-length light bar and he built a piece to cover the top. The top of the aquarium has a crossbar. I thought it was just a support for the 2 hoods, but it has a crack where it attaches to the rim of the tank.
