May 30, 2014 · Locate the file " AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg" and drag it to the trash. Note: This file may not be present in Mac OS X v10.6 or later; skip to the next step if this is the case. Remove any other file ending with ".pkg" that has iTunes in the title (such as "iTunesX.pkg"). Restart your Mac. Empty the Trash. This should fully remove iTunes.

Dec 03, 2011 · Mine is now doing the same. The only thing I've done was download the latest software update the other day and now when I plug my Iphone in to the USB for the computer it doesn't detect the phone is plugged in. Works just fine on a wall charger.

May 08, 2012 · The file to which you refer, assuming you are in 10.7 Lion, will need to be restored from the partition and this will need to be done through the admin account.Go to Apple's website and in advance support use the drop down to select your Mac OS, 10.7, 10.6 etc. and then in the search box search upon this "restore a system file".

Just today, I plugged in my iPod Classic (bought recently; 160 GB), and it doesn't charge or show up in iTunes. Its screen turns on though. I have OS X 10.8.5, and the latest iTunes on a MacPro 2008.
