Apr 03, 2016 · So Apparently Disk Utility for Yosemite works fine, Disk Utility for El Capitan not only can't identify the difference between an unmounted drive and a drive with journaling disabled, it also doesn't seem to know how to resize a partition, nor identify that the failed resize was actually a failure.
