To connect this to Quantum (or other Thunderbolt 2 devices), we recommend using the StarTech Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter. We do not recommend using the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter on a PC Desktop / Laptop as it may not work. In our tests using a Gigabyte Motherboard with USB-C, the Apple Adapter worked.

Oct 13, 2016 · So I contacted support again and after 4 hours they told me Windows is no longer going to support the Firewire adapter because it is obsolete. Apple still sells the Thunderbolt Firewire adapter and is supported on Mac, so it is not obsolete. I want to know why Windows will no longer provide an IEEE1394 driver for this device.
