When you look up the Support Lifecycle for App-V you found the Lifecycle for App-V 5.1 which is in Extended Support now (since January 2018) and running out of support in 2023. This is just for App-V 5.1 – not for the App-V Client which is built into Windows 10.

Mar 03, 2017 · App-V 5.1 refers to the MDOP based version of App-V released in 2015. As the product is shipping against existing operating systems, this means that those OSs that it supports will be older and normally have expiration dates prior to that of the released product. And that is the case here. So will there be a 5.2 version of App-V?

During my years at Softricity and Microsoft, the thought of App-V 4.6 going end of life seemed light years away. However, mainstream support ended on the 14th July 2015, plus the only version of App-V which is supported for Windows 10 is App-V 5.1.With Windows 10 Enterprise about to include App-V in box, the strategic move is clearly to upgrade to App-V 5.1.
