If you want to add Ethernet UI support , you need manually apply the attached patches in this file which is based on Android ICS and i.MX6. About what the patches do, here is some comments: framework/base-----0001-ENGR00220371-Ethernet-add-support-for-ethernet.patch By default, Android has no support for Ethernet UI.

A surefire way to get wired Ethernet on your Android tablet is to get a portable WiFi router that also will allow the network cable to attache thus converting the WiFi to wired 2 of these portable router that come to mind are the ASUS WL-330N3G and the TP-Link TL-WR202N Nano router.

(27 replies) Robill, Can you please update the your patch to work with current ICS code ( Android-x86 4.0-RC1)? It is broken at the moment, missing some API's in EthernetStateTracker and EthernetService constructors, and the commenting out of EthernetStateTracker implementing NetworkStateTracker. I did those changes quick and dirty but at the moment I was not able to test.
