IOMMU sounds like a generic name for Intel VT-d and AMD IOV. In which case I don't think you can multiplex devices, it's a lot like PCI passthrough before all these fancy virtualization instructions existed :). SR-IOV is different, the peripheral itself must carry the support.

Oct 09, 2015 · To narrow things down I uninstalled the amd chipset drivers, reverted back to a microsoft standard ahci controller for the amd driver and turned of the iommu in the bios. The cpu is an amd 9370 4.4 ghz set at 4.0 ghz ( slight under clock )with 32 gig of ddr3 ram, ample to run . a host os and guest.
