Mar 05, 2010 · Hi Obviously, my older computer doesn't support SSE but I was using an older version of Paint.net. I had to reinstall Windows XP Home and I tried to update Paint.com as well but receive the following message; A processor (CPU) with SSE support is required.

Note that this only detects whether the CPU supports the instructions. To actually run them, you also need to have operating system support. Specifically, operating system support is required for: x64 instructions. (You need a 64-bit OS.) Instructions that use the (AVX) 256-bit ymm registers. Arnold 5 requires that the computer's processor supports the SSE 4.1 instruction set. SSE stands for Streaming SIMD Extensions, and adds as many as 54 new instructions to the CPU.
