Ford 9 Pinion Supports. N1914: Ford Daytona pinion supports are an option to replace the stock OEM unit.The stock support is made of nodular iron and uses the same size bearing front and rear. The N1914 is also constructed from cast iron, but uses a larger rear pinion bearing for increased load capacity. Our Ford 9 pinion supports are supplied with front and rear Timken races installed.

The pinion support body is designed to accept a 35 spline pinion shaft and a 28 spline pinion shaft. Pinion support installation kit 873-N1923 fits a 28 spline pinion shaft and kit 873-N1924 fits a 35 spline pinion shaft. When changing from a 28 or 35 spline pinion shaft, all that is needed is a new pinion support installation kit, sold separately.

Photo below shows a the D2OW-C hooded daytona pinion support which may have been the last Ford production Daytona support from what I have seen. Daytona pinion supports are found in conjunction with N cases, they have the same size outer bearing as the standards supports, but the inner bearing is much larger, and the inner webbing much stronger.
