May 02, 2011 · When I start the zune, it takes me to a contact support page. In the page there is a circled 5. Plugged into my computer it says the device is unrecognized. I tried resetting, but can't quite get down the hard restore I believe. I tried hitting back and up, after that I tried back left and middle.

Jul 21, 2008 · 30gb Contact support 5. ... 8:08 pm I recently changed my screen and now when I turn it on the Zune logo shows for a while, and then it says "Contact support" with the number 5 in a circle. Before changing the screen, the Zune worked just fine. I could sync and hear my music even though the screen was broken.

Aug 16, 2008 · i have the exact same problem with my 30gb (which i actually sold and am trying to fix for a friend)it charges and goes to the logo screen with no loading bar at the bottom it then blinks to the contact support screen 5 message. do you think its my ribbon cord? should i send the zune in to be fixed or just order the parts and fix it myself?(willing and able!..at the buyers expense of course) :?

Mar 21, 2010 · I recently dropped my 30GB Zune and now the screen says "Contact Support 5". I tried plugging it into the PC but my Zune is undetected. I also hear a sound when I hold the Zune close to my ear. It sounds like someone is changing lines on a typewriter. Is there any possible way for me to fix this problem or is my Zune a lost cause?

I open, plug my Zune in (not sure if correctly, I'm still learning how to work this), and once I get it on, it says "contact support". It never said it before, so based on searches on this subreddit, it's a faulty cable. I know Microsoft discontinued Zune, so there's no way to contact them, but I don't know what to do.
