Hello All and Tech support, Evidently this "cutting out" of the 2 wire 2701HG-B router is a plague, because I am finding messages all over the internet, with people looking for a solution. I have to say that this "cutting out" of DSL signal has become so bad in the last several months that I am probably going to have to consider another carrier.

Feb 22, 2011 · I am trying to install an ip camera for remote viewing on the internet. The camera is installed and is viewable on the local network. The problem is the 2-WIRE modem/Router. It does not support UPnP port forwarding. I tried creating a pinhole in the firewall and also tried assigning a private fixed ip address for the camera.

Apr 16, 2007 · If that is the case with your ISP then everytime you unplug one modem (or modem/router) and plug in the other one you will need to register it. That may require a phone call to tech support or there may be a web site where you can do it. IMHO your best bet is to work with your dad to find a solution that uses the current modem/router.
