Mar 01, 2015 · 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem. The system does not support full screen mode. I still like to run a few dos applications, which use to work ok in XP in full screen, but when using either Vista or Windows 7. I can only rum these applications in a window.

It happens because in these OSes, the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) based device driver for the graphics card does not support the running of DOS video modes. There is no simple solution to this no support for full screen window in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
