1080i would limit you to 60 interlaced field per second which is 30 fps in practice. I strongly suggest getting a new TV before buying the One X. If you don’t have a 4K TV it’s just not worth it.

Nov 25, 2013 · Yes, it does support 1080i as the base minimum is only 720p. Check the connections on your HDMI cord to make sure they are securely plugged in. My question is, what is the brand of tv you have and the model?

Nov 14, 2019 · The p in 1080p stands for progressive scan, and the i in 1080i stands for interlaced. Frame and field rates. HD content is always broadcast at 30 frames per second. 1080p content is played back at native frame rate, while 1080i is played back at 60 fields per second (a field is the technical term for an interlaced frame).

The "i" in 1080i stands for interlaced scan. This means that half the lines that make up screen images are "redrawn" by your HDTV 60 times a second. This format looks great with most content, but there is a slight blur (called "motion-blur") with fast-moving video. For this reason, Xbox One doesn't support interlaced resolutions.

According to support staff, there are currently no plans for an implementation of that feature. Given the fact that most modern TVs support 1080p and the number of non-1080p TVs floating around will be decreasing rapidly (you can pick up a decent 40" full HD TV for less than 500€ now), I doubt that 1080i will ever be supported.
